Day 2–Suit Up and Fight the Dragon! (also Dim Sum)

At this point it's time to mention we actually have some friends who used to live in Hong Kong (What up Liad and Meli?) and they recommended I get a bespoke suit made, so we spent the morning looking st pictures of Liam Hemsworth and his awesome Dior Homme blue suit which I wanted a copy of.

We got breakfast at the hotel which was a buffet of east meets west - congee, noodles and red beans on the eastern side, bacon and eggs on the wested side - I loaded up on everything they had as my body was convinced its dinner time and then we hit the road.

We decided to take the subway as its always fun to go to different places and see how much better their subway system is than the one we have in New York. And better it was: clean and organized and the best part was the octopus card - a rechargeable card you can use in many places as an e-wallet that also lets you pay for your subway rides (like in the Uk, you pay for how much you travel, not a flat rate). Also: cellular reception everywhere, not just in select stations.

When we got to the tailor’s store he was not around and we didn't have a SIM card yet so we couldn’t call him so we looked around and found some other tailors and talked to them for a bit but we knew we wanted the one Liad recommended and as we were getting ready to leave, Jimmy the tailor made a miraculous comeback and we ended up buying the suit (actually just taking the measurements. The suit will arrive later, we'll get back to that).

With the suit out of the way, we went to do some more hiking, in a trail called Dragon’s Back, it's called that because the terrain is very up and downy which looks like the back of the dragon (I guess). The trail was fun, not too difficult, but there were a lot of inclines. We got to about half of the way in to the trail when the sun started setting and since we got to the peak which was supposed to be the highlight of the trek, we decided to head back to not get stuck in the dark (we didn't have a headlamp with us).

We decided to finish the day with some much deserved dim sum at a place Sune and Ida recommended called Tim Ho Wan. Ordering the food was a fun experience, you sit at a table with a cup that holds little forms with all the foods and some pencils and you mark what you want, we went a little crazy with the amount of food we got but we finished most everything. The dim sum was good, but the pork bun was uh-mazing! Flaky and delicious, highly recommended! A little anecdote: when we asked for a napkin, they asked for $3hk, about fifty cents, when we agreed, we got tissue paper, not sure what happened there exactly...

After that we made our way back to hotel to crash for the night. (not before buying a sim card for tomorrow at our local 7/11)
